About the Role

As a Solutions Architect (SA), your role is to help prospects understand the value that dbt Cloud can bring to their organization. You'll lead technical discussions with prospective customers, uncover their data challenges, and demonstrate how dbt Cloud can meet their needs through live demos and technical workshops.

Internally, you'll contribute to building and refining our processes and playbooks, while acting as the voice of the customer to ensure we continue developing products that solve real problems and delight our users.

This role is based in Austin, with an expectation of being in the office two days per week.

  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives, building strong, trust-based relationships and offering strategic input throughout the deal process
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with technical stakeholders within your accounts
  • Partner with internal teams to improve how we work together, represent the voice of the customer in product discussions, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives
  • Participate in our knowledge-sharing loop by helping improve team processes, refining assets, and enabling others through collaboration
  • Create and deliver external-facing content through live events, blog posts, recorded tutorials, or other educational resources
What You'll Need
  • 4+ years of experience as a data practitioner or consultant in data operations or analytics
  • Strong technical foundation, with a solid understanding of modern data warehousing architectures, the modern data stack, and proficiency in SQL
  • Prior experience with dbt is preferred; bonus points for dbt certification
  • Experience working asynchronously as part of a partially remote, distributed team
  • High degree of comfort presenting to diverse stakeholders or audiences, ideally in an externally facing role
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and think on your feet during customer conversations
  • Desire to be a strong team player-both within the SA team as we evolve our ways of working, and in daily collaboration with Account Executives as part of a deal team
  • Openness to travel; we value the power of in-person relationship building, both internally and externally, and expect willingness to travel to events as needed
What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Basic python competency and advanced SQL knowledge
  • Proven experience in a pre-sales tech role
  • Experience with traditional ETL tooling
