Position Purpose:

Oversee and approve, in coordination with Design Architects, the design of the business or technical solution, ensuring the solution encompasses the overall tactical, strategic, and architectural principals, as well as the long-term IT organizational strategy. Apply analytical techniques, separating a complex whole into its parts or elements to resolve problems or issues. Ensure team members understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, organizational standards are maintained, and applications are delivered according to project timeliness. Responsible for solutions, spanning more than one platform and/or customer area.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design of software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes in coordination with project teams. Develop artifacts such as concept diagrams, technical diagrams, and cost and budget calculations and coordinate/combine those created by System Designers. Present design solution options, that taking into consideration and account for known project constraints, to Design Architects and upper management for sign off for projects spanning multiple platforms and/or customer areas.

  • Lead design sessions with project teams, and resolves issues that arise between the teams. Recognize, identify, and communicate overlaps with projects and efforts. Stays abreast of all facets of each project, ensuring the health of each project throughout the project life cycle. Communicate design solutions to internal and external customers and project teams.

  • Build and maintain the technical, business, and architectural knowledge. May mentor development and design staff.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's in a job-related field

Degree Equivalency:

  • Associate's degree plus an extra 2 years job-related experience for a total of 8 years of required work experience (see "required work experience").

OR

  • 10 total years required work experience

Required Work Experience:

  • 6 years-experience within information technology, including demonstrated proficiency in the implementation of medium to large-sized systems.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of system analysis concepts, with an in-depth understanding of systems applications, interfaces, and architecture.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relate tactical, strategic and architectural requirements to a wide variety of audiences.

  • Working knowledge of development and production environments, applicable programming languages and system components.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business, client and project needs. Ability to recommend innovative process solutions to business problems.

  • Ability to quickly learn new and different methods and systems.

  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational and project management skills.

  • Understanding of requirements gathering concepts.

  • Ability to work with diverse teams.


Required Software and Other Tools:

  • Working knowledge of personal computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, VISIO, Power point, graphics, etc.

We Prefer That You Have:

  • Experience with ServiceNow IT Asset Management, including Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Management, and Source-to-Pay functionality.

  • Experience supporting procurement-related processes such as supplier management, sourcing, purchase requests, approvals, receiving, invoicing, and payment system integrations.

  • Ability to design and implement end-to-end ServiceNow solutions that improve procurement, supplier, contract, purchase order, and asset lifecycle processes.

  • Ability to support CMDB data accuracy through Discovery, reconciliation, and alignment between assets and configuration records.
