Job Summary

Under the direction of a Manager, Senior Manager, or Partner, the Senior Engineer - Boomi Architect works with clients to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise integration solutions using Boomi iPaaS. This role blends hands-on technical delivery with architectural leadership, owning complex integration designs while guiding junior engineers and collaborating closely with Master Consultants and business development teams. The position focuses on delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable integrations that improve client business processes and data flows across cloud and on-premise systems.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, and implement enterprise integration solutions using Boomi, including APIs, process orchestration, data transformations, and event-driven integrations.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand client business requirements, existing systems, and integration needs, translating them into robust solution architectures.
  • Serve as the technical lead on Boomi engagements, ensuring solutions align with best practices for scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Develop and enforce integration standards, patterns, and documentation, including unit testing strategies and deployment approaches.
  • Lead and oversee unit testing, peer reviews, and quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality, production-ready integrations.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical oversight to Engineer I and Engineer II team members on Boomi development and integration best practices.
  • Lead direct client communication on technical deliverables, risks, and timelines, ensuring expectations are met and client satisfaction remains high.
  • Collaborate with Master Consultants and business development teams during pre-sales activities, including solution design, scope development, and technical input for proposals.
  • Support integration across a variety of enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, HCM, and industry platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, ADP, Procore).
  • Participate in research, development, and continuous improvement initiatives to advance integration capabilities, tooling, and delivery methodologies.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering or integration development, including hands-on experience with Boomi or similar iPaaS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration concepts, including APIs, data transformation, workflow orchestration, and hybrid (cloud/on-premise) environments.
  • Experience working in a client-facing, professional services environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Boomi Professional or Architect certification.
  • Experience with additional iPaaS or integration technologies (e.g., Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Workato, Celigo).
  • Experience supporting pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical sales efforts.
  • Familiarity with integration security standards, compliance considerations, and API management strategies.
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications across multiple industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, finance, or construction.


Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work under pressure while meeting budget and delivery timelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on designing scalable integration solutions.
  • Ability to lead technical teams and coach junior engineers while remaining hands-on with complex work.
  • Ability to support sales, marketing, and cross-selling initiatives through technical expertise, presentations, and thought leadership contributions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and integration design/documentation tools.
  • Results-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable with strong learning agility.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $88,000 to $118,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws.

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
