Position Description: Our Solution Architecture Consultants craft and develop technical architectures to integrate multiple systems or applications, producing complete solutions for our clients.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Work on high-functioning Agile delivery teams as the Solution Architecture Consultant and participate in requirements analysis, solution design, architecture governance, and technical leadership while helping teams solve complex business and technical challenges.
• Define and maintain Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, and application architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy, technology standards, and organizational objectives.
• Design and lead implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure Architecture, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Architecture, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Provide architectural guidance and leadership to development teams, business stakeholders, and project teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Lead the architecture and design of modern application platforms using C#/.NET Architecture, ASP.NET Core Web API Architecture, and cloud-native development practices.
• Define and govern REST API Design, API Contract Design, and service interoperability standards using Swagger/OpenAPI specifications and API governance best practices.
• Design and oversee Integration Architecture solutions, including enterprise integrations, microservices, event-driven architectures, API integrations, and integration of COTS products with enterprise systems.
• Establish application architecture patterns including Repository Pattern, Service Layer Architecture, domain-driven design principles, and separation of concerns to improve maintainability and scalability.
• Design and optimize data architectures utilizing SQL Server Architecture, Entity Framework Architecture, data modeling, performance tuning, and data integration strategies.
• Collaborate with business development teams and clients to provide technology recommendations, architecture assessments, modernization roadmaps, and innovative solution alternatives.
• Understand and support project governance processes including project management, configuration management, version control, privacy, security, compliance, and risk management.
• Support quality engineering practices, testing strategies, automation frameworks, and non-functional requirements including scalability, availability, security, and performance.
• Develop architecture deliverables including solution blueprints, architecture decision records, technical specifications, integration diagrams, API documentation, and technology roadmaps.
• Define and promote CI/CD Architecture and DevSecOps practices, including automated build, test, deployment, monitoring, and release management pipelines.
• Build detailed architectures aligned with strategic and tactical objectives while ensuring consistency with enterprise standards, business processes, data flows, application interfaces, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and network topology.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, cloud innovations, architecture frameworks, and industry best practices, acting as a trusted advisor and technology champion.
• Participate in conferences and industry communities to bring innovative, modern, and relevant technology solutions to clients.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:• 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture, delivering strategic, large-scale business and technology solutions.
• Strong understanding of architecture frameworks, methodologies, governance models, and architecture best practices.
• Experience with microservices and SOA service-oriented architecture
• Skilled in presenting technical topics to business stakeholders and in translating business rules to programmatic logic
• Possess intellectual humility and pro-social EQ skills conducive to a high-collaboration team environment
• Hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise applications using C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core Web API, and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience designing and governing RESTful APIs, API Contract Design, API lifecycle management, and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Architecture and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Architecture, including cloud-native, hybrid cloud, and modernization initiatives.
• Experience designing and implementing Integration Architecture solutions, including APIs, microservices, messaging, enterprise service integration, and COTS product integration.
• Experience with SQL Server Architecture, database design, optimization, data integration, and performance tuning.
• Experience implementing Entity Framework Architecture, Repository Pattern, and Service Layer Architecture within enterprise-grade solutions.
• Experience designing systems and services focused on scalability, high availability, security, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
• Demonstrated experience leading architecture initiatives involving legacy modernization, mainframe integration, cloud migration, and digital transformation programs.
• Experience defining and implementing CI/CD Architecture, DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and deployment pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, architecture governance, and delivery within Agile Delivery environments.
• Experience modeling complex business processes and translating business requirements into scalable technical architectures and solution designs.
• Proven experience in architecture planning, management, associated methods, governance processes, and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated experience conducting architecture reviews, security assessments, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations.
Desired:
• Experience working with public sector clients.
• Experience leading large-scale application modernization, cloud migration, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as:
o AWS Certified Solutions Architect
o Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
o TOGAF Certification
o Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
o Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile-related certifications
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000 - $160,000.
