Software QA Manager

Richmond Hill, ON (Hybrid)

What You'll Do

We are looking for an experienced Software QA Manager to lead multiple customer projects and product releases from Quality Assurance perspective, assess software quality through manual and automated testing with the QA team. The incumbent is responsible for enhancing our existing QA testing processes, improving efficiency, acting as a hands-on leader by example participating in the new and existing projects. You possess a keen eye for detail with excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), be competent in writing and executing test cases, and be passionate about quality. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly.

The successful candidate will work closely with other QA Specialists as well as Developers, Business Analysts, Product Managers and Project Managers, participate in scrum meetings, and contribute to technical discussions and sharing ideas with colleagues.

Who You Are
  • 8+ years of professional experience in QA with software applications
  • 5+ years of QA experience with self-service solutions (such as kiosks, POS, etc.) or web/mobile applications
  • 3+ years of proven success leading and mentoring a QA team preferably in a tech startup environment utilizing Agile practices and tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Advanced knowledge of Software Testing theories and practices
  • Willingness to perform hands-on QA testing
  • Professional experience working with testing Hardware devices (e.g. Credit Card readers)
  • Strong experience and understanding in project management and QA methodology
  • Experience with source control (e.g., SVN, Bitbucket, Git)
  • Working knowledge of test management software (Jira, Zephyr)
  • Good understanding of the requirements analysis, definition, and specification process
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Delivery-focused and well-organized in a very fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills
  • Manage and prioritize conflicting request and balance concurrent projects
  • Self-motivated and self-starter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a considerate and compassionate attitude

  • Participate in hiring and onboarding of new team members, conducting formal and informal one-on-ones, setting goals, and performing performance reviews

You Travel

You will be working mostly from the Richmond Hill Office, with a possibility of 5 - 20% of business travel.

Required Education:

BSc/BA Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Working conditions:
  • Incumbent is required to work at the Richmond Hill location on Kiosks and Bag drop machines, in addition to web and mobile testing.
  • Ability to lift objects to 3kgs.
