Job Description Summary
Supporting evidence-based decision-making and the University of Ottawa's strategic priorities, the incumbent manages and optimizes the CRM platform and its data. The role is responsible for ensuring data integrity, governance, and system effectiveness, while analyzing and interpreting CRM data to provide actionable insights that support strategic planning, operational efficiency, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the incumbent translates business needs into data-driven solutions that maximize the value of the CRM platform.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collects, analyzes and interprets quantitative and qualitative data from multiple internal systems and sources to support reporting, forecasting and performance assessment. Develops regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards and visualizations that present clear, accurate and timely insights aligned with strategic and operational needs.
  • Data Management and Quality Assurance: Ensures data accuracy, integrity and consistency by validating data sources, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions. Establishes and maintains data standards, documentation, and best practices to support reliable data usage and long-term sustainability. Acts as the primary steward of the organization's CRM platform, overseeing data governance, data imports and exports, and system configuration and workflows.
  • Business Intelligence and Insights: Transforms complex datasets into meaningful insights that support planning, prioritization and decision-making. Identifies trends, patterns and risks, and provides analysis to support strategic initiatives, management reporting and continuous performance improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Works closely with internal partners to understand analytical needs and provide tailored data solutions. Supports stakeholders in interpreting data, understanding implications and applying insights to their respective areas of responsibility.
  • Operational Support: Supports operational planning and monitoring by developing metrics, key performance indicators and tracking tools. Responds to data requests from leadership and operational teams, ensuring clarity of scope, timelines and deliverables.
  • Governance, Compliance and Documentation: Ensures analytical practices comply with university policies, data governance standards and privacy requirements. Maintains documentation of methodologies, assumptions and definitions to promote transparency and reproducibility.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keeps apprised of emerging strategies on data analysis and management and identifies opportunities to integrate these strategies into the University's advancement service and to standardize business processes.
  • Other related duties: Performs other duties in support of the University's data analysis and management efforts as assigned.


What you will bring:
  • University degree in data analytics, computer science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, reporting or business intelligence in a large, complex CRM environment.
  • Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrated experience working with datasets from multiple systems and producing clear analytical outputs for diverse audiences.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, with proven ability to successfully collaborate with varied parties in a professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of database concepts, data structures and analytical methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly. Knowledge and advanced skills in Microsoft Office are strong assets.
  • Experience using query languages such as SQL, SOQL or similar.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification is considered an asset.
