OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Software Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple products and engineering teams. This individual will play a key role in defining architecture, driving engineering excellence, mentoring senior engineers, and solving complex technical challenges across our identity security platform.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native application development, secure software design, and enterprise-scale software architecture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical architecture and design of large-scale enterprise software solutions.
- Drive engineering strategy and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
- Design highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and DevOps teams.
- Serve as the technical authority for critical engineering initiatives and architectural decisions.
- Lead design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning sessions.
- Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Improve software quality through automation, testing, observability, and performance optimization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
- Partner with Security teams to ensure secure development practices and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
- Drive modernization efforts, including cloud migration, platform improvements, and technical debt reduction.
- Contribute to coding, design, code reviews, and proof-of-concept development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Extensive experience designing and building enterprise software products.
- Proven experience serving as a technical leader across multiple engineering teams.
- Deep knowledge of software architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong experience with cloud-native application development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
