Full Job Description

Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.

The Engineering Applications Department (EAD) develops a wide variety of innovative tools and applications to support civil, commercial, and national security space systems. From web, cloud, and desktop visualization to virtual and augmented reality; EAD evaluates and creates unique visual experiences that present data and analysis to key decision-makers. We are looking for Software Integration Engineer (Member of Technical Staff – Software Architecture Engineering and Systems Software Engineering) to join the Intelligent Ops and Software Integration team that supports our customer laboratories in developing software solutions that include life and characterization software, software delivery, middleware development, and data visualizations. 

 

This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA, which requires 100% onsite work. 

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Support industry leading scientists and engineers in the development of maintainable cloud native and stand-alone data visualization applications as well as development of backend service-oriented architecture components 

  • Provide technical support in application architecture and development, continuous integration and continuous deployment, middleware development, and software interface development for laboratory equipment 

  • Work with subject matter experts and scientists to develop laboratory applications which enable modeling and simulations of space capabilities 

  • Operate strategically through engaging with customers in leveraging the latest technology that provides innovative solutions to their challenging problems in the space arena 

  • Learn and grow through new work opportunities, training, and mentorship from experienced staff   

 

What You Need to be Successful– Sr Member of Technical Staff - Software Architecture Engineering and Systems Software Engineering

MinimumRequirements:

  • Bachelor’s degreein STEM, with emphasis inComputer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field(s) 

  • 4 or moreyears of experience in architecting software solutions for engineering or scientific applications

  • Demonstrated ability in coding and scripting with languages with at least two different programming languages (e.g.Java, Python, C/C++.)

  • Proficient in developing binary data parsers and byte-level data extraction tools

  • Experience integrating third-party libraries across multiple operating systems

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer sitedomesticallyapprox. 10%.  

  • This position requires ability to obtain andmaintaina security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is requiredto obtain a security clearance.

 

How You Can Stand Out 

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: 

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or other sciences/engineering discipline 

  • 6 or more years of experience in architecting software solutions for engineering or scientific applications 

  • Experience working with multiple database technologies or diverse cloud platforms 

  • Previous experience working with aerospace or defense industry clients 

  • Current and active TS/SCI Clearance
