Position OverviewAs a Software Engineering Manager within PNC's IT Site Reliability Engineering Center, you will be based at one of the following IT Hubs: Phoenix, Arizona; Denver, Colorado and or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
PNC is seeking a Payments Technology Manager / Payments Application Manager to lead the support, stability, modernization, and continuous improvement of critical payment platforms. This role will be responsible for leading the support, stability, modernization, and continuous improvement of mission-critical payment platforms supporting domestic, international, instant, and digital asset payments.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Leadership:
• Manage and support enterprise payment applications and integrations.
• Lead a Global 24x7 Operation; manage distributed teams supporting critical systems around the clock. Participate in leadership escalation and on-call rotations to support major incidents, critical production events, and operational continuity.
• Provide after-hours operational leadership and on-call support. Participate in an on-call leadership rotation supporting critical production services, major incidents, and high-severity customer-impacting events. Availability outside standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to support incident response, change events, escalations, and business continuity needs.
• Oversee application releases, change management, production implementations, and disaster recovery testing.
• Establish monitoring, observability, and proactive issue detection capabilities.
• Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Management:
• Act as primary liaison between business stakeholders, payment operations, vendors, and technology teams.
• Communicate application health, risks, incidents, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with external payment networks, vendors, and clearing organizations.

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
