The Opportunity

CACI’s Electronic Warfare (EW) division is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to oversee and develop a growing software team in Belgrade, MT, supporting mission-critical counter uncrewed systems (CUxS) capabilities. In this role, you will manage engineering execution across multiple programs, ensure consistent and productized software integrations—such as camera and radar systems—and coordinate cross-discipline collaboration to maintain a shared software baseline and common software services. You will provide structured guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day management to help engineers deliver high-quality, scalable backend services while aligning work with program objectives and future mission needs.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with cross-discipline teams to develop software that fits within an evolving system architecture, ensuring new capabilities integrate cleanly while identifying where architectural updates or refinements may be needed to support future mission scalability.
  • Learn and understand hardware and software interfaces to support cross-program software integration.
  • Demonstrate strong strategic, organizational, execution, design, and analytical skills.
  • Build relationships across the CACI EW engineering matrix and program management organization to execute full software lifecycles.
  • Apply technical expertise to build, test, and maintain backend software services that support our products and mission.
  • Support comprehensive software designs and improvements while providing technical leadership and direction.
  • Collaborate on and support business-readiness activities, including product testing, rollout, iteration, and support.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • At least seven years of software development.
  • At least two years managing software engineers or serving as a technical lead for a software engineering team.
  • Background developing backend microservice applications.
  • Familiarity with full-stack web development technologies.
  • Knowledge of general software and architecture concepts, including microservices, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, security principles, object-oriented design, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Background ingesting requirements and generating work estimates.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience supporting mission-essential systems with high-uptime requirements.
Desired
  • Hands-on work with RF hardware, including amplifiers and radars.
  • Hands-on work with imaging hardware, including daylight and infrared systems, as well as video streams.
  • Hands-on work with complex hardware-software integrations, including integrations that require detailed interface control documents (ICDs).
  • Use of artificial intelligence tools, such as Claude Code, to perform daily software development tasks.
  • Experience working with computer vision classifiers and video stream processing.
  • Two to three years experience in developing microservices.
