What you'll doAs a Software Engineer you will work as a member of the program delivery team and support the product development team. Both teams focus on developing and supporting the delivery of a monitor and control software, ViaControl, for satellite antenna systems. You will be participating in active software development of device drivers and product features using either a waterfall or agile methodology. We are seeking a Software Engineer Intern with experience working in Python and knowledge of various communication protocols including TCP, SNMP, and REST. An ideal candidate will have the knowledge and desire to support the design, development, implementation, integration, and testing of the ViaControl M&C software.
The day-to-dayYour day-to-day will vary by program phase, but core activities include designing, developing, testing, and documenting device drivers that integrate ViaControl with satellite antenna systems, and configuring and deploying ViaControl across a variety of hardware platforms. You will engage directly with internal and external customers to answer technical questions and resolve operational issues, and work alongside the product development team to contribute to feature development and provide real-world performance feedback. Above all, you will be a collaborative teammate - helping others hit delivery milestones and working through technical challenges together.
What you'll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or currently pursuing)
- 2+ years of experience writing in Python
- Familiarity with network communication protocols such as TCP, SNMP, or REST
- Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Ability to work in a Linux-based environment

Salary range$117,000.00 - $185,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $145,000.00- $218,000.00/ annually
