The RoleAs a Software Engineer at OnePay, your work will build the products & systems that serve our customers and run our company. You will play a crucial role in translating product visions into functional, high-quality applications and features. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver impactful solutions that enhance our customer's financial lives. You will:
- Develop and implement new features, API's, and products.
- Work closely with other engineers to ship code. We enjoy collaboration and partnering on hard problems.
- Architect and designing highly scalable and reliable products.
- Building and maintaining documentation. As a growing and remote organization, having the necessary documentation is key to our success.
- Solve complex problems that arise at scale. We deal with real-world money movement and sensitive financial data at scale and are creating novel financial mechanics with no real precedent.
You Bring- 5+ years of professional experience in product-facing backend development.
- Strong track record of delivering high-impact features and products.
- Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing API's.
- Curiosity and passion for emerging AI tooling, with practical experience incorporating tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Claude into real-world execution.

Tools We UseWe use Node and TypeScript on the server, leveraging the NestJS framework within a microservice-oriented architecture running on Kubernetes and AWS. On the client side, we build and ship product features for iOS, Android, and web platforms using React Native. We also embrace AI-assisted development, so engineers have their choice of Claude Code or Cursor to fit their workflow.
