Job DescriptionACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIREDAs a Software Engineer on Team Nyla, you will bring your technical creativity and collaborative energy to design, build, maintain, and enhance complex software components based on documented requirements. Working independently or alongside a team of brilliant, ever-curious engineers, you will tackle everything from hardware/software trade-offs and COTS/GOTS integration to end-to-end component testing, requirements synthesis, and problem resolution. The annual base salary range for this role is $146,000-$173,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Software Development & Design: Proven experience building, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems using development methodologies appropriate to the host environment.
- Problem Solving & Testing: Demonstrated experience reviewing code, resolving software problem reports, and testing software components against design requirements with documented results.
- System Design & Requirements Analysis: Ability to analyze system-level requirements and synthesize them into individual software components, including evaluating hardware/software trade-offs and software reuse.
- COTS/GOTS Integration: Hands-on experience evaluating and integrating Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) products in place of custom software development.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS
7+ years of professional software engineering experience OR
Master's Degree in a related field, PLUS
5+ years of specialized software engineering experience OR
High School Diploma / GED, PLUS
11+ years of hands-on technical software development and big data administration experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired SkillsExperience developing processing-intensive analytics, algorithm-heavy workflows, or real-time architectures.
Hands-on experience managing and manipulating extremely large data sets.
Active involvement in continuous learning, prototype development, or emerging tech exploration.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
