Full Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to join and drive our Supplier Development Program (SDP). This individual is a self-starting leader and technical problem solver who can bridge the gap between data analysis and shop-floor execution. The ideal candidate possesses the analytical skills to identify data trends and the manufacturing engineering expertise to go on-site at suppliers and implement solutions such as process automation, tooling/fixturing improvements, and control plans.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze quality and manufacturing data to identify trends and focus areas that drive impactful process improvements at suppliers
• Plan, organize, and lead cross-functional teams through a multiphase development approach including onsite supplier events, e.g., assessments, kaizens, training, etc.
• Conduct onsite technical assessments of supplier manufacturing capabilities to identify bottlenecks, process gaps, or risks.
• Leverage manufacturing and process engineering experience to help create training and supplier development plans with measurements of success that benefit both the supplier and BAE Systems
• Collaborate with suppliers to successfully implement and monitor the development plans
• Present supplier development plans, results, and impact to key stakeholders including internal and external senior leadership

Required Skills and Education
• Bachelor's Degree and 2-4+ years of direct experience or 6-8+ years of engineering experience in lieu of degree
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Ability to develop solutions to a wide range of problems, escalating novel issues
• Experience with process improvements, including tooling/fixture design, automation, yield improvement, etc.
• Self-starter that fosters and nurtures teamwork
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (Ex: ISO9001/AS9100)
• Strong Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA) experience
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Effectively plans, prioritizes, and executes multiple assignments to meet commitments
• Ability to travel up to 50%
Preferred Skills and Education
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or industrial preferred) or technical field
• Direct experience with Supplier Development
• Experience with Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL), specifically 7 - 10
• Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience (AS9145), including process flow diagrams (PFD), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and control plans
• Configuration Management (EIA 649)
• Some experience with sourcing and execution in a regulated industry such as Aerospace/Defense
• Special Processes (Chemical Processing, Welding, etc.) experience or exposure
• Lean-6Sigma experience/certification(s)
