PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Design and develop complex, multi-tier distributed software application. Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, Java applications. Build and implement high performing, backend software services to help PayPal generate payment platform solutions that are resilient, configurable, and scalable. Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems on a platform consumed by multiple payment products. Deliver in agile environment through iterative development and communicating with cross functional teams. Ensure adherence to code quality and implement automation for efficiency monitoring. Monitor performance of applications in production and conduct performance testing while resolving performance issues. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience in designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java
2. Experience in working on Spring Framework.
3. Experience in build tools like Maven and test frameworks like Junit and TestNg
4. Experience designing and implementing RESTful web services
5. Database experience with SQL or Oracle or MongoDb
6. Experience in working on Microservice applications and cloud platform
7. Experience in working on distributed messaging system like Kafka
8. Jira

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
San Jose, California | Salary: $169,576.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
