JOB DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Participate in planning sessions with the project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solutions to develop software applications. Participate in design reviews and provide input for design recommendations, incorporate security requirements into design, and provide input to information and data flow for software application development. Comply with the project life cycle methodology in all planning steps and adhere to IT control policies throughout design, development and testing. Incorporate corporate architectural standards into application design specifications, document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules, and develop and enhance software application modules. Participate in programming reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Identify and troubleshoot application programming-related issues and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation. Work with the test team to ensure the testing results correspond to the business expectations. Assist in project planning and tracking activities, as well as in production support triaging activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: designing, implementing, and managing the Software Delivery Lifecycle using DevOps tools including Jira and Jenkins; developing, testing, and optimizing ETL applications using data modeling and transformation frameworks; building, maintaining, and troubleshooting ETL workflows using ETL tools including Informatica PowerCenter; conducting requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder communication for business analysis using tools including Microsoft Visio and Excel; applying, coordinating, and delivering software solutions using Agile software development methodologies and tools including Jira and Scrum frameworks; scheduling and orchestrating batch jobs and automated workflows using scheduling tools such as Control-M or Autosys; managing source code, branching, and release processes using version control tools including Bitbucket and implementing change management strategies; facilitating team communication, documentation, and project tracking using collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint; writing, optimizing, and debugging triggers, stored procedures, and queries on Oracle 11g or higher and PL/SQL databases; configuring, monitoring, and maintaining Linux or Unix administration environments; developing, testing, and deploying Unix Korn Shell scripts for automation and system tasks; automating manual processes using scripting utilities such as Python, Bash, or Perl; conducting performance analysis and tuning using profiling tools and system or application logs; monitoring, collecting, and interpreting system-level metrics using tools such as Splunk or custom scripts; designing, implementing, and maintaining Data Warehousing solutions and handling data sets larger than 10 Terabytes using enterprise data platforms.
