JOB DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Enhances, builds, and delivers trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Conducts critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems. Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture. Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technology Lead, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Coding in JavaScript and TypeScript using the React framework; Utilizing automation and continuous delivery to build, test, and deploy application code; Utilizing the Software Development Life Cycle to design software that satisfies given requirements, develop reliable and reusable applications, test and reinforce confidence in the software, and deploy developed applications to staging and production environments; Working with agile methodologies, including Scrum, to deliver value faster and adapt to change, focusing on continuous improvement and customer feedback; Working with software applications including VisualStudio Code and Command Line Interfaces; Working with cloud native to build, deploy, and manage applications designed for cloud computing models including AWS.
