About This Role We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Lead and manage all Software Engineers within the Munitions group in the Textron Systems Weapons division.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for Software Engineers, including:
- Managing full-time employees, co-ops, interns, and contractors.
- Forecasting needs to meet program and organizational requirements.
- Drive Software Engineer development and engagement through:
- Performance management: establishing objectives, conducting reviews, and providing feedback.
- Facilitating regular communication: hosting meetings, resolving issues, and mentoring team members.
- Developing detailed skills planning and providing training opportunities to enhance capabilities.
- Oversee customer deliverables, including:
- Review and approval of software architecture and requirements development.
- Ensuring deliverables meet internal quality expectations and customer requirements.
- Monitor and improve departmental performance via:
- Analysis of quality metrics related to process compliance and overall team performance.
- Gathering and addressing feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience, OR Master's degree (M.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of embedded and application Software Engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile Software Development methods and tools.
- Understanding of Model-Based Engineering practices.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies is preferred.
