About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer III to build the core software powering our next-generation autonomous robots. In this role, you will develop the systems that allow our robots to automate key warehouse functions with high performance and reliability. You will work across robotics and autonomy-building robust, production-grade software that scales as we deploy more robots into high-throughput warehouse operations. You'll collaborate closely with our AI, hardware, and infrastructure teams to integrate frontier AI capabilities into practical, real-world robotics systems and to continually improve system uptime, performance, and overall intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement services that integrate external partner software into the Nimble stack, defining clear APIs and contracts.
- Optimize end-to-end warehouse throughput across Nimble software and partner automation systems.
- Build fault-tolerant software with well-defined error handling and recovery behavior.
- Drive measurable improvements in autonomy quality, using data and operational metrics to iterate on task success rate, recovery behavior, and system reliability.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering to deliver seamless software-hardware integration for new robot platforms and upgrades.
- Lead technical design reviews and drive architecture decisions for core subsystems and features.
- Triage, diagnose, and resolve issues in production robotics systems.
- Mentor cross-functional engineers and technicians, raising the bar on reliability, testing, and operational excellence.
- Build and maintain integrations with robot platforms, APIs, services, and data systems
- Develop fault-tolerant, fail-safe robotic software and scalable systems
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of experience in production-level coding in C++, Python, or Rust
- Demonstrated experience or knowledge of distributed systems, backend services, API design, CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes
- Demonstrated experience designing scalable systems and leading complex technical projects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- A proven track record of using analysis to influence high-stakes operational and engineering changes.
Compensation
The pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to bebetween $160,000 - $210,000/year. Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, this position will also receive generous equity for this position.
