The FX Post Trade Trade Capture & Lifecycle Management team is responsible for building and supporting strategic post-trade processing platforms for Foreign Exchange products across Bank of America. The team develops highly scalable, low-latency, and resilient solutions that provide trade capture, lifecycle management, workflow orchestration, risk management, and straight-through processing (STP) capabilities. The role involves designing and developing Python-based applications and services that support global FX trading operations, regulatory reporting, and operational risk reduction while driving the modernization of legacy platforms.
Responsibilities:- Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
- Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
- Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
- Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
- Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- Automates manual release activities
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
- Design, develop, test, and support Python-based applications and microservices within the FX Post Trade platform.
- Build and maintain highly available, low-latency, and high-volume trade processing systems.
- Implement trade capture, booking, validation, workflow orchestration, and lifecycle management solutions for FX products.
- Participate in the modernization and migration of legacy trade processing platforms to strategic architectures.
- Develop APIs, messaging, and event-driven integration solutions across trading, risk, operations, and regulatory systems.
- Analyze and resolve production issues while ensuring platform stability and performance.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA engineers, and production support teams across global locations.
- Support regulatory, audit, and operational reporting requirements through reliable trade and lifecycle data management.
- Contribute to system design, architecture reviews, and technical governance initiatives.
- Drive automation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across the platform.
Required Qualifications:- 10+ years of relevant application development work.
- Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python development.
- Experience developing scalable, enterprise-grade distributed systems.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile development environment.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production systems.
Desired Qualifications:- Experience in Capital Markets, Foreign Exchange (FX), or Electronic Trading platforms.
- Knowledge of STP trade processing, trade lifecycle management, and post-trade operations.
- Experience with event-driven architectures or messaging middleware.
- Exposure to cloud-native technologies, containerization.
- Understanding of regulatory reporting and financial market controls.
- Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks and service-oriented architectures.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and test automation.
- Familiarity with trade booking, risk, settlements, and lifecycle processing flows.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams and stakeholders across Trading, Operations, Product, and Technology organizations

Pay range
$102,900.00 - $179,900.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
