1. Design and develop software and tools (pipeline build infrastructure) that power a state-of-the-art machine learning platform
2. Lead system architecture design efforts, including the integration and management of upstream and downstream dependencies
3. Drive operational efficiency through automation in areas such as capacity planning, configuration management, performance optimization, monitoring, and root cause analysis
4. Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely support for critical production issues
\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----
1. Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems software engineering, with a strong foundation in computer architecture and core computer science principles
2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
3. Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Go, Python, or C/C++
4. Solid working knowledge of networking, Linux, Docker, databases, and distributed processing technologies such as Ray, Hadoop, Hive, and/or Spark
\-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ----
1. Proven experience in designing, building, and operating distributed systems and high-throughput services
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computational complexity
3. Demonstrates grit, initiative, and a strong sense of ownership, alongside a collaborative mindset and leadership capabilities
4. Hands-on experience using machine learning frameworks in production environments
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.
