Job Description:Job Description:As a Senior Software Engineer in the Secured Consumer Credit team within Personal Banking, you will contribute to the delivery and support of credit solutions by owning software engineering work across analysis, development, delivery, defect resolution, and operational improvements. You will work within the pod's delivery cadence and collaborate with cross-pod partners and stakeholders to manage dependencies, deliver prioritized work, and maintain stable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering software engineering work within the pod scope, including design, development, remediation, enhancements, and technical improvements aligned to prioritized backlog items.
- Participate in the pod operating rhythm (e.g., daily huddles, sprint ceremonies, technical calls) to coordinate work, manage blockers, and communicate progress.
- Triage issues and perform root-cause analysis; implement corrective changes and support validation through testing and controlled releases.
- Collaborate with other credit pods and stakeholders to align dependencies, sequencing, and handoffs.
- Maintain strong delivery practice through code reviews, documentation, operational readiness, and transparent tracking in work management tools.
Requirements- Languages & frameworks: Java (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), RESTful APIs; PL/SQL; React or Angular.
- Databases: MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2.
- Tools: Maven, Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow, Git/GitHub.
- Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC and JSP).
- Experience with middleware (e.g., JBoss EAP, Spring Boot).
- Familiarity with infrastructure change including application Day1 delivery and decommissioning processes (DNS, certificates, firewall rules, monitoring).
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Applied AI tooling experience (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
- 4+ years of relevant experience with Banking/financial services domain knowledge.
Nice To Have- Experience as a TAO or TAO delegate role for TD applications.
- Domain knowledge in credit security products and funding process.
- Additional technologies: .NET, Python.
- Cloud experience (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
