Full Job Description
The Role

We're looking for a curious, investigative, problem-solving Software Engineer II to join our Integrations team.

As a Software Engineer II, you'll work in close partnership with your team lead to keep our existing integrations healthy and growing. That means handling triage on incoming support requests, upgrading and maintaining integrations, and building enhancements on top of what's already been built. This is full-stack work, front end and back end, and the person who thrives here is someone who gets energized by a good debugging challenge and knows how to work through ambiguity without getting stuck.
Working At CompanyCam

Our engineering team is remote-first, spanning every time zone in the United States. We welcome people from all backgrounds and really don't care whether or not you have a CS degree or even a high school diploma. All that matters is that you're not an a**hole and you're good at what you do.

At CompanyCam we're driven to produce work with meaningful outcomes. That means not just dumping features and "improvements" but being able to reflect and learn from our outputs. We're actively working to center our work on continuous discovery habits (CDH) as outlined by Teresa Torres.

Our teams are made up of a product manager, a product designer, a tech lead and an appropriate number of engineers for the scope of your team. Rather than being overly prescriptive, we provide guardrails and just enough constraints to keep teams moving. Each team is expected to collaborate, iterate, and refine their best practices to produce high-quality work.
What You'll Do
  • Build new features and enhancements on top of established integrations based on customer needs and data
  • Maintain and upgrade existing integrations, including endpoint updates and deprecation management
  • Investigate and debug issues using logs, monitoring tools, and a whole lot of curiosity
  • Use AI tooling to move faster and work smarter across debugging and development workflows
  • Partner closely with your team lead to keep maintenance and enhancement work in its own lane, so new integration builds stay on track
What You'll Bring

Must-haves

These are our non-negotiables:
  • Show up: Have the courage to do difficult but necessary work.
  • Grow up: Take ownership, learn continuously, and bring a growth mindset.
  • Do good: Treat your teammates and customers the way you'd want to be treated.
  • 1+ years of professional software engineering experience; you've worked in the field, not just studied it
  • Full-stack experience, comfortable contributing on both the front end and back end
  • A genuine curiosity and investigative mindset: when something breaks, you want to understand why
  • Ability to work through ambiguous debugging challenges independently and move forward without a clear path
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, feedback-friendly approach
  • You live and work permanently in the U.S. (We're not set up to hire outside the U.S.).

Nice-to-haves

Day to day, you'll spend most of your time triaging support requests, maintaining integrations, and building enhancements. You'll be able to have even more impact if you have experience in one or more of the following:
  • Ruby on Rails, React
  • PostgreSQL or SQL
  • Datadog or similar monitoring and observability tools
  • AI-assisted development tools for debugging and investigation
Benefits and Compensation

This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. Our salary range is $116,500 - $123,000 per year and is based on experience. We also offer meaningful equity and other benefits.
