Position Overview

Praescient Analytics is seeking a talented and driven Full Stack Java Developer with React experience to support a critical national security mission with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

In this role, you will provide direct development and engineering support for the National Industrial Security System (NISS). NISS is the DCSA's secure, cloud-based system of record used to manage and oversee industrial security for contractors working with classified U.S. government information. Operating within a cutting-edge Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, you will bridge the gap between secure backend architecture and modern, responsive user interfaces, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of systems that protect our nation's most sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full-Stack Development: Design, build, test, and deploy robust, scalable web applications using Java for backend services and React for dynamic, intuitive frontend interfaces.
  • Cloud Architecture Integration: Develop, optimize, and maintain application features directly within an AWS cloud environment, leveraging managed cloud services for optimal performance and security.
  • Mission-Critical Engineering: Collaborate on the continuous modernization and maintenance of NISS, ensuring the platform remains highly secure, responsive, and available for federal and industry stakeholders.
  • API & Service Layer Management: Build and consume secure RESTful APIs to connect backend data layers with the user interface.
  • Agile Collaboration: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to security architectures.
  • Cross-Team Communication: Act as a core technical communicator, translating complex technical challenges into clear actionable items for project managers, stakeholders, and fellow engineers.

Required Qualifications:
  • Clearance & Citizenship:Active U.S. Secret clearance is required. Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet federal contract mandates.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of professional software development experience.
  • Backend Skills: Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher) and enterprise frameworks (such as Spring Boot or Hibernate).
  • Frontend Skills: Demonstrated hands-on experience building user interfaces with React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Cloud Environment: Practical experience working within, deploying to, or managing applications inside an Amazon Web Services (AWS) framework.
  • Communication:Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. You must be capable of articulating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • An active Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, RDS, MySQL) or NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).
  • Knowledge of federal security compliance frameworks and identity access management.
  • Prior experience working on Department of Defense (DoD) or DCSA programs.
