Responsibilities

What you'll be able to do:

Software Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the anticipated worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the anticipated worksite. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust backend systems using Java and Spring Boot to ensure high performance and reliability. The role involves developing and implementing scalable cloud-based applications, leveraging services like Cloud Run and Pub/Sub. The engineer will architect and manage microservices to enhance system modularity and scalability, as well as automate CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to optimize deployment efficiency. They will collaborate using GitHub for effective source code management and employ logging and monitoring tools to create dashboards and alerts, ensuring efficient production support. Additionally, they will apply test-driven development (TDD) and clean coding practices to maintain high-quality code and optimize database performance with SQL and NoSQL technologies.

Qualifications

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Education and/or experience must include: 1. Developing robust backend systems using Java and Spring Boot to deliver high-performance applications. 2. Developing cloud solutions by implementing applications using services including Cloud Run or Pub/Sub. 3. Implementing microservices architecture to enhance modularity and improve system scalability. 4. Automating CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins to increase deployment efficiency and streamline workflows. 5. Utilizing GitHub for collaborative development and effective source code management. 6. Utilizing logging and monitoring tools to create dashboards and alerts for effective production support and incident management. 7. Optimizing database performance with SQL and NoSQL technologies to improve query response times.

We are offering a salary of $84,053.00 - $204,611.04/yr.
