Description: Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
• Support the EGSE Organization as a software engineer.
• You will support modernization efforts geared toward achieving greater efficiency, security, automation and scalability
• You will collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, electrical and test engineers using the Agile Development methodology.
• Coordinate with the product line manager and directorates to support needs.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
• Programming experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, LabView, Python, Java, TestStand
• 3+ years of professional experience for this role.
• You will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in automated test equipment software design
DoD Secret clearance required prior to start; US Citizenship required
Experience with product-lifecycle management (Design, Development, Deployment) and/or issue-tracking systems
Fundamental understanding of Python scripting language
Desired Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
Demonstrated experience with software design and development and software integration on hardware test systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience troubleshooting interactions between software and hardware such as network devices and lab instrumentation
Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE), test-software development (LabVIEW, C/C++, Python).
Prior experience on Electrical Ground Support Equipment, or communications systems for aerospace/defense.
Familiarity with Atlassian Products development processes.
