Auria is looking to hire a Software Engineerto support the Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications(C2BMC) program. This role is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in the Java language for one of the Regional Applications teams in Colorado Springs (User Interface, Enterprise Services, RA-An). Under minimal direction, provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas. Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. Maintains currency, debugs and configures related software products. Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications. Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs. Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, setting standards and improving overall efficiency of the operating system. Designs, codes, tests and implements tools for operations automation. Works on most phases of software systems programming applications, and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases. Leadership position on small software focused teams may be required.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:- Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or related field from an accredited college. For non-computer science major, prefer comp-sci minor.
- Active Secret Security Clearance Required.
- Software engineering and software development with strong Java/J2EE experience. 7+ years experience with an advanced degree, 9+ years experience with a Bachelor degree.
- Experience in at least one object oriented programming language (e.g., Java, C#, C++, Python, etc.). Experience with software integration and formal testing.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and ability to apply them in a multi team environment.
- Excellent problem solving skills with a proven track record of root cause analysis and issue resolution.
- Proven ability to mentor and motivate junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and drives the team toward shared success.
- Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment.

Technical Skills Required - The candidate will have experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines and configuration management.
- Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired) -Extensive Experience with Java foundation classes and toolkits.
- Small team leadership experience (Agile team leadership strongly experience desired); mentoring and guiding junior engineers
- Knowledge of server side/database development, computer system administration; Net-centric, horizontal integration program expertise is a plus.
- Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to review performance and operational issues, identify root cause, recommend, design and implement a solution.

- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS: - Strong background supporting software engineering on DoD programs.
- Experience with command and control (C2) system application development.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience presenting complex concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program leadership, government representatives, and military leaders. Willingness to take on unanticipated tasking.
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams.
- Strong knowledge with Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to support Agile software development teams.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $124,000 - $145,000
