About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA
What you will accomplish: Job Duties: Design, develop and deploy core software systems or applications that support all activities on eBay that require money movement and beyond. Build robust and scalable software, help improve our code services and system architecture. Estimate engineering efforts, prioritize projects, plan implementations, and triage production issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and enhancements, while maintaining system integrity and performance. Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices. Identify and resolve technical issues, leveraging innovative approaches to optimize application functionality and user experience. Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and deliver results. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
- Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java
- Experience designing and developing software services monitoring and alerting
- Experience in designing and developing event-based, real-time business-event-handling software solutions using pub/sub technologies such as Kafka
- Experience working in financial technology, including secure PCI data handling, network tokenization, and integration and testing experience with payments through processors
Salary: $169,576.00-229,600.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional DetailsBase pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
