We are looking for a Experienced Software Developer to join the Ericsson 5G software development team. You will take ownership of key components, drive technical design decisions, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality, high-performance software.

What you will do

This role requires an individual to lead the design, implementation, and integration of functionality for Ericsson's base station products. It requires the employee to

  • Design and develop C/C++ software for a multi-core target environment with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Drive technical design and architecture for new features; produce clear design documentation and align stakeholders
  • Integrate complex new software and proactively manage technical risk across interfaces and dependencies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Trouble Reports found internally and by external customers; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Define and develop automated test coverage and quality gates at different levels of integration to protect legacy and improve release quality
  • Own software deliveries using version control and CI/CD practices; improve build, test, and release automation
  • Collaborate with other developers in the team locally and globally, through pairing, knowledge share, design walkthrough, and code reviews
  • Propose and contribute to software architecture change and evolution, and safe-guard long term software module integrity


The skills you bring

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong C/C++ coding skills and experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline
  • Experience with Radio Access Network (RAN) software development, focusing on Baseband and L3 software development
  • Experience developing software for real-time, multi-core embedded products and optimizing for latency, throughput, and CPU/memory constraints
  • Proven expertise troubleshooting complex issues in real-time embedded software platforms, debugging, profiling, and root-cause analysis
  • Experience with scripting language and build/test automation in Linux-based development environments
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and influence design decisions across teams
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and independently; able to lead technical discussions and drive alignment
  • Strong sense of ownership: innovating, adapting, and driving continuous improvement in code quality and team practices
  • Passion for quality, delivering results, and meeting expectations
  • Eligible to work in Canada

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

The salary range for this position is

• Ottawa, Ontario: $101,500 - $133,350

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security

This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short-term disability coverage. Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
