Software Dev Engineer - Software Dev Engineer IV | Dallas, Texas, United States Software Development Engineer IV (SDE3) - AWS & Cloud Infrastructure - Dallas, TX (Onsite Only) About the Role Join a high-impact engineering team at Amazon (Ex-Amazon professionals only) as a Software Development Engineer IV, focusing on building and automating internal tools for scalable AWS-based systems. This is a senior-level, 100% onsite position in Dallas, TX, designed for hands-on engineers who thrive in high-accountability, production-driven environments. You'll own end-to-end deployments, architect solutions using AWS CloudFormation (CDK preferred), and contribute to net-new software projects-no legacy support, only innovation. Responsibilities - Design, develop, and deploy production-quality backend and cloud solutions using Python or Java - Lead the automation, provisioning, and management of AWS infrastructure utilizing CloudFormation (preferably CDK) - Participate in biweekly sprints, collaborating with cross-site teams in Dallas and Seattle - Troubleshoot, debug, and deep-dive into complex systems and infrastructure issues - Own deployment pipelines and ensure robust, reliable delivery of new features - Contribute technical expertise to system design interviews and feature planning - Implement internal tools that streamline operations and enable rapid scaling Required Skills and Experience - 4-5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in backend or cloud-focused roles - Advanced proficiency in Python or Java for backend development - Demonstrable, real-world experience with AWS services and infrastructure deployment - Strong portfolio of building and managing CloudFormation stacks (CDK preferred) - Proficient with SQL for data handling and integration - Experience delivering results in high-ownership environments with structured, onsite teams - Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship - Prior experience at Amazon (Ex-Amazon required) Preferred Skills - Exposure to data engineering or AI tool implementation - Deep familiarity with Amazon internal tools and environments - Experience in fast-paced, platform-focused engineering teams Benefits - High-visibility role in a mission-critical team - 18-month contract with potential for long-term engagement - Monday-Friday, standard business hours with no overtime or weekend expectations - Work alongside top-tier engineering talent in a collaborative, growth-driven environment How to Apply Ready to leverage your AWS and backend expertise on impactful cloud projects?
