Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Software Business Development, you will:

1. Architect the Market (Strategic BD)
  • Perform deep-dive "white-space" analysis to identify high-ROI verticals (Fleet, Retail, CPO).
  • Prioritize accounts based on long-term Lifetime Value (LTV) rather than just quick wins.
  • Navigate complex regulatory landscapes (NEVI, OCPP 2.0.1) to ensure we are positioned for the biggest funding cycles.

2. Drive the Software Engine (Full-Cycle Sales)
  • Own the software revenue quota and maintain an assignedattachment rate on all hardware deployments.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities (APIs, load management, remote diagnostics) into clear financial value for C-suite stakeholders.
  • Manage a high-visibility pipeline in Salesforce to accelerate deal cycles.

3. Influence the Global Roadmap (Product Advocacy)
  • Synthesize North American market needs and translate them into technical business cases.
  • Quantify the "Cost of Inaction"-providing the data that helps our global team prioritize high-ROI features for the NA market.
  • Act as the "Internal Software Product Manager" for the region, ensuring Kempower stays ahead of local competitors.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
  • The "Builder" (5-8+ Years Experience): You have a proven track record of building a software business or territory from the ground up. You've ideally spent 5+ years in B2B SaaS or Enterprise Software sales, specifically navigating the transition from "early adopter" to "market leader."
  • Industry Fluency: You have deep roots in Renewable Energy, Fleet Management, or Grid Infrastructure. You understand that software isn't an "add-on"-it's the essential intelligence that solves infrastructure gaps.
  • A Technical Translator: You can talk shop with an IT Director about APIs in the morning and discuss TCO with a CFO in the afternoon.
  • Analytically Rigorous: You don't guess; you use registration data and grant maps to build your strategy.
  • A Cross-Border Collaborator: You've worked with international teams before and know how to build rapport across time zones and cultures.
  • Commercially Sharp: You understand the SaaS financial model (MRR, LTV, CAC) and how software margins drive overall company valuation.
