Our client is seeking an experienced
Senior Software Asset Managerto lead software licensing, compliance, audits, renewals, and optimization initiatives across the organization. This is a senior-level role requiring strong expertise in Software Asset Management, licensing models, and software compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Software Asset Management initiatives, including software audits, reconciliations, true-ups, renewals, and remediation.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for software licensing and SAM on enterprise projects and initiatives.
- Analyze software usage, entitlements, contracts, and licensing terms to identify compliance and cost-optimization opportunities.
- Manage licensing and subscriptions across perpetual, SaaS, cloud, and AI platforms, includingAzure and Microsoft Copilot.
- Lead external software audits and coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Develop reporting and dashboards to provide leadership with visibility into software compliance, costs, risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Review software agreements and communicate contractual requirements, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and improve Software Asset Management processes and practices.
Requirements- Minimum 5 years of Software Asset Management experience, with a strong focus on software and SaaS licensing.
- Strong knowledge of software licensing models, entitlement management, compliance, audits, and contractual terms.
- Experience managingSaaS, cloud, and AI licensing/subscriptions.
- Experience with Software Asset Management platforms and discovery tools;Ivanti IT Asset Management and Ivanti Endpoint Managerare considered assets.
- Strong Excel skills and experience withPower BIor similar reporting/analytics tools.
- ITIL v4 Foundation or higher is preferred.
- Knowledge ofISO 19770or other IT Asset Management/SAM standards is an asset.
- CSAM, CITAM, or similar SAM certificationis strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex licensing concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Post-secondary education in IT, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
