Job DescriptionWesco Distribution, Inc. seeks a Software Architect - Development in Pittsburgh, PA responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and managing software and data programs. This is a hybrid office/work-from-home position within the United States, but the employee must live within commuting distance of the office in Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities:- Identifying and developing areas for modification in existing programs, as well as testing and evaluating new programs.
- Collaborating with business partners and other technical teams across the organization to deliver proposed solutions.
- Managing the evaluation, identification, development, and implementation of software solutions.
- Defining, documenting and recording designs and modifications of application or software.
- Identifying and resolving failures within existing and newly developed software systems and programs.
- Designing data models for the enterprise to support analytical and transactional use cases.
- Designing real-time and batch system interfaces and data enrichment pipelines in a cloud-native data ecosystem.
- Guiding development teams through all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC) and providing customer technical support solution analysis and design, and balancing technical and business aspects.
- Troubleshooting production issues of all levels and severities, tracking progress from identification through resolution and ensuring best practices are followed.
- Working with IT leadership and business partners to design features for the cloud platform.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a lead development and architect role supporting data engineering processes.
- 5 years of experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, DataStage, Oracle PL/SQL, or SQL Server stored procedures), SQL, and Data Bases.
- 5 years of data modeling experience for analytical models.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (OBIEE, Oracle BI Publisher, Incorta or QuickSight).
- Experience with developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using each of the following: ETL/ELT processes using Informatica PowerCenter, SQL, and RDBMS (including Oracle, SQL Server and Teradata).
- Experience with using problem solving and analytical skills to translate business requirements into technical specs in order to deliver robust data engineering solutions.
- Experience with orchestration tools - Apache Airflow.
This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.
For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
