Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software/Digital Engineer to join our team in the Cape Canaveral, FL area.

This position will support the USSF Space Systems Command (SSC) National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program in Cape Canaveral, FL, driving digital transformation and enterprise modernization for mission-critical defense systems. Focusing on Digital Engineering and Data Strategy, this role operationalizes defense data strategies, leverages AI/ML and cloud-native architectures to accelerate decision-making and performs the data modeling and cloud integration verification necessary to execute comprehensive strategic modernization plans.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the charge in developing cutting-edge digital engineering solutions for the Space Systems Command and the broader Launch Enterprise.
  • Drive the complete digital transformation lifecycle, from initial strategy and concept ideation through to successful system integration and operational adoption.
  • Contribute to process development, roadmap refinement, and efficient sprint execution within an agile framework.
  • Coordinate seamlessly and communicate effectively with diverse, multi-organizational teams to achieve common strategic goals.
  • Actively contribute hands-on to accomplish complex tasks while also sharing your expertise to help others develop their skills.
  • Work individually and collaboratively on full-stack engineering solutions encompassing frontend, backend, databases, and modeling.
  • Serve as the central hub and integrator for the digital engineering team, maintaining a holistic view and ensuring all components align perfectly.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in software or digital engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM discipline. 1.5 years of Software or Digital experience may be accepted in lieu of each 1 year of education/degree requirement
  • 10+ years of experience as a systems engineer, technical project manager, or in other related areas.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional years of experience leading global missions in defense innovation, cyber operations, and artificial intelligence.
  • Master of Science in a highly analytical field, such as Operations Research.
  • Proven track record of managing high-budget portfolios and supporting massive defense enterprise scaling across multi-domain operations.
  • Expertise in integrated development, security, and operations practices, agile program leadership, and zero-to-one innovation execution.
  • Experience building strategic alliances with defense industry partners, academia, and technology startups to advance joint all-domain operations


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Frequently communicate with co-workers and management to exchange accurate information.
