Job Description:

We are seeking an Enterprise Account Manager (EAM) to drive growth across State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) customers throughout Maryland and West Virginia. This is a remote, territory-based sales role focused on developing customer relationships, building pipeline, creating new opportunities, and expanding HPE's presence across the market.

The Enterprise Account Manager will own the sales strategy for assigned accounts and opportunities, working across HPE's broader portfolio of solutions and services. This role requires a strong hunter mentality, the ability to develop executive-level customer relationships, and a demonstrated track record of navigating complex enterprise technology sales cycles. You will work closely with HPE specialists, presales resources, channel partners, and other internal teams to identify customer needs, develop compelling solutions, and drive opportunities from initial engagement through close.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a territory and account strategy focused on pipeline creation, revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term customer relationships across SLED accounts.
  • Proactively identify and develop new sales opportunities by engaging customers, uncovering business and technology priorities, and connecting those needs to HPE solutions.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline across short-, mid-, and long-term opportunities.
  • Establish and expand relationships with key customer stakeholders, influencers, and executive decision-makers across IT and the broader organization.
  • Understand customers' business objectives, technology strategies, challenges, and priorities and translate them into relevant IT opportunities.
  • Position HPE's broader portfolio of products, solutions, and services to address customer requirements and deliver measurable business value.
  • Lead complex sales opportunities from early engagement through closure, coordinating internal specialists, presales resources, business units, and channel partners throughout the sales cycle.
  • Develop compelling business value propositions that connect HPE solutions to customers' strategic priorities and desired outcomes.
  • Build and execute comprehensive account plans and maintain clear strategies for developing and expanding assigned accounts.
  • Partner closely with HPE specialists and extended account teams to ensure the right resources are engaged throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Develop and leverage the partner ecosystem to expand market coverage, create opportunities, and strengthen HPE's presence throughout territory
  • Maintain an understanding of IT industry developments, emerging technologies, competitive dynamics, and trends impacting public-sector customers.
  • Provide accurate pipeline, forecast, opportunity, and account information while maintaining strong operational discipline throughout the sales process.
  • Serve as a customer advocate within HPE, coordinating across internal organizations to support customer satisfaction, resolve barriers, and create a consistent customer experience.

Education and Experience:
  • University or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of sales or account management experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals and building new business.
  • Enterprise technology sales experience preferred.
  • SLED or public-sector sales experience preferred.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and executive-level customer relationships.
  • Experience working with channel partners and cross-functional sales teams preferred.
  • Reside within MD, DC, VA, or West VA and have the ability to travel regularly for customer, partner, and business engagements

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong hunter mentality with the ability to identify, develop, and convert new opportunities.
  • Proven ability to build pipeline and expand business within an assigned territory.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to connect customer business priorities to technology solutions.
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships with customer executives, IT leaders, partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of complex enterprise sales cycles and the ability to lead opportunities from prospecting through close.
  • Ability to orchestrate cross-functional teams and effectively engage specialists, presales resources, business units, and partners.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise technology and current IT trends, with the ability to continually develop knowledge of HPE's portfolio.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong account and territory planning skills with disciplined pipeline and forecast management.
