Join WSP's Building & Transportation Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Team as a Site Mechanical Engineer, supporting major infrastructure projects located in downtown Toronto. This role places you at the centre of site execution, where your technical expertise and construction-phase leadership help deliver some of Canada's most complex and impactful transportation and building projects.
Your Impact

You will:
  • Deliver mechanical design and site engineering services for transportation buildings projects
  • Act as WSP's mechanical engineering representative during construction, supporting contractors, owners, and internal teams through all phases of site execution.
  • Lead the design and implementation of mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronic systems, plumbing, fire protection, and BAS.
  • Conduct regular site visits and field reviews to verify installations align with design intent, codes, and contract documents.
  • Review and respond to shop drawings, RFIs, change requests, and proposed design deviations with a strong focus on constructability.
  • Support commissioning, testing, start-up, and close-out activities to ensure safe, reliable system performance.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and EITs, contributing to technical excellence and team development.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and P.Eng. registration with PEO.
  • 7-10 years of experience designing mechanical systems for transportation, commercial, healthcare, or light industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (OBC, CSA, ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA, SMACNA, AREMA).
  • Proven experience providing construction administration and field engineering services on complex projects.
  • Expertise with mechanical design and analysis software (e.g., HAP/Tracer, duct and pipe sizing, equipment selection).
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, commissioning agents, inspectors, and AHJs.
  • Familiarity with GO Metrolinx and TTC design standards (asset).
  • Confidence working in active construction environments with frequent site presence.
Compensation

Compensation:
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 - $118,900
MB & ON: $81,900 - $112,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81,100 - $107,700
