Full Job Description
Our Reston, VA office is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to join a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and operational specialists. In this role, you will contribute to applied research and development that directly supports real-world National Security Systems.

As a member of our team, you will work on data analysis, signal and information processing, environmental phenomenology characterization, and advanced algorithm development, implementation, and testing. Initial assignments will focus on undersea acoustic signal processing and array-based methods, with opportunities to expand into additional domains as projects evolve.

This position is well-suited for early-career researchers who want to build deep technical expertise while contributing to impactful national-security work. You will receive mentoring and hands-on training from experienced researchers, gaining exposure to modern signal processing techniques and established best practices. This role provides the opportunity to work directly with real-world operational data whose results contribute to systems that support and benefit our military and national-security partners.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience in signal processing from industry or coursework.
  • Ability to research, implement, and evaluate advanced processing methods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in one or more sensing domains such as sonar, radar, SIGINT, or related sensing domain.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in one or more technical subjects, such as statistical adaptive array and multichannel processing, stochastic processes and applications, detection and estimation theory, tracking, classification, fusion or related field.
  • Ability to work in small groups and contribute to long-term development tasks minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in prototyping simple and complex concepts in MATLAB and/or Python.
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED; successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Qualifications
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience in mathematical/physical modeling, simulation, and performance analysis.
  • Experience preparing clear, well-structured technical reports or documentation for internal or customer review.
  • Experience working with large, diverse or complex data sets.
  • Programming experience in Java or C/C++.

*The selected individual will be expected to work onsite in the Reston, VA office.
