Full Job Description
Job Title: Shop Service Supervisor

Location: Dulles, Virginia

Starting Compensation Range: $85,000 - 105,000 per year

What You Will Do:
  • Oversee work order closing process; Open and review work orders for accuracy and completeness, and the appropriateness of parts and labor, and close work orders to invoice, as needed
  • Maintain good customer relations through communication and continual contact; Address customer concerns and disputes and resolve in timely manner
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the service department
  • Ensure all technicians follow safe work practices without exception; Conduct monthly safety meetings; Ensure all technicians receive adequate training and instruction prior to operating any piece of equipment
  • Develop quality control procedures and repair processes to ensure the highest quality of customer service is provided
  • Manage service logistics, including use of materials, equipment, and employees; Ensure needed equipment and tooling is available to Technicians; Order parts as needed for jobs
  • Coordinate and develop technician work schedules; Communicate repair plans to technicians to align with customer quotes
  • Conduct constructive and timely performance reviews for service technicians; Wages are to be discussed at least once annually with each employee
  • Monitor productivity and repair quality
  • Address issues impacting completion of repair plan in time quoted to customers
  • Establish and implement maintenance schedules for all service vehicles and equipment Conduct inspections of trucks, cranes, compressors, and truck beds, as required
  • Work in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum five years' service-related experience in heavy construction equipment industry
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of the function and repair of heavy construction equipment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication with excellent oral and written communication skills
