Full Job Description
Step into the heart of our hotel's financial engine as Controller. In this key Executive Committee role, you'll lead budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss reporting, and month-end processes while overseeing audits, payroll, AP/AR, and tax compliance. With a strong focus on financial controls, accuracy, and profitability, you'll help drive the hotel's success with the support of a great team.

KEY SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Leadership & Performance

  • Lead daily financial operations, including reporting, payroll, AP/AR, cash management, and audits
  • Oversee month-end close, profit analysis, and variance reporting
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and annual operating plans with department leaders
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial statements and monthly forecasts
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability

Compliance, Controls & Risk

  • Maintain strong financial controls to protect assets and sensitive data
  • Manage tax collection, posting, reconciliation, and banking activities accurately
  • Ensure compliance with reporting standards and documentation requirements
  • Conduct regular balance sheet reviews to reduce risk and improve accuracy
  • Support audit readiness and operational integrity across the hotel

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members for strong performance
  • Build effective cross-functional partnerships across departments
  • Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback and accountability
  • Promote professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership
  • Foster a collaborative culture that supports hotel performance

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and 5+ years of finance leadership experience, ideally in hospitality or a similar industry
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop accounting teams
  • Strong communication skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and hotel systems
  • Strategic thinker with high integrity and the flexibility to meet business needs
