Serco-NA is seeking an experienced
Professional Development Coachin Norfolk, VA, to support leadership development and organizational effectiveness within Navy-owned shipyards.
As a Professional Development Coach, you will provide personalized coaching, leadership development, and training support to shipyard supervisors, managers, and leadership teams, fostering professional growth and improving operational excellence across critical naval maintenance and repair operations.
This opportunity is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain an active DoW Secret security clearance.In this role, you will:
- Provide tailored coaching to shipyard supervisors and managers, focusing on leadership development, strategic decision-making, communication, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Conduct and facilitate leadership, management, and professional development training programs.
- Track and monitor training and coaching requirements, completion status, and development plans within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Support leaders in identifying areas for improvement, establishing actionable development goals, and achieving measurable results.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of leadership development programs and training curricula.
- Guide leaders in managing workplace challenges, conflict resolution, and team development to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Support organizational change initiatives by helping leaders align teams with strategic objectives and maintain operational continuity.
- Deliver training modules on leadership best practices, communication, time management, and workforce development tailored to the shipyard environment.
- Evaluate coaching and training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Lead and support special projects related to leadership development, workforce training, and organizational effectiveness.
- This is a hybrid position requiring some telework anda minimum of 3 days per weekin an industrial work environment.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- The ability to obtain and maintain an active DoW Secret security clearance.
- A U.S. citizenship is required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Leadership, Organizational Development, Psychology, Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field; ora minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field with a coaching certification.
- 5 yearsof experience in leadership development, professional coaching, organizational development, workforce training, or a related field.
- Coaching certifications (ICF, Gallup, InsideOut Development Coaching, or equivalent) required.
- The ability to travel occasionally to supported shipyard locations as required (up to 10%).

- Strong knowledge of leadership principles, coaching methodologies, adult learning concepts, and team dynamics.
- Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating professional development and training programs.

- Proficiency in conflict resolution, change management, and organizational effectiveness strategies.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple priorities in an industrial environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Candidate must be able to wear a hard hat and steel-toed shoes, lift up to 40 pounds, and safely climb and descend ladders.
Additional Desired Experience and Skills
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy shipyard operations, policies, procedures, and workforce development practices.
- Experience supporting leaders in complex, high-stakes industrial, manufacturing, military, or government environments.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful leadership development, training, and coaching programs.
- Experience working with large organizations undergoing transformation or culture-change initiatives.
- Familiarity with training management systems and workforce development metrics.
