What You'll DoAs an expert leader on the subcontracting team, you will:
- Own the full subcontract lifecycle - from requirements definition and RFP/RFQ development to negotiation, award, and supplier management
- Lead high-value procurements for complex hardware and services
- Analyze supplier proposals, perform cost/price analysis, and drive negotiation strategies
- Serve as the primary subcontract point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners
- Provide expert guidance on FAR/DFARS compliance, contractual risk, and business strategy
- Develop and manage supplier relationships, resolving issues across multiple programs
- Partner with program management, legal, and finance to ensure successful execution
- Identify risks early and implement creative, business-focused solutions
- Mentor and guide junior team members
- Maintain accurate subcontract records in SAP or similar systems
What You BringExperience- 15+ years of experience in subcontracts, procurement, or contract administration (or equivalent experience)
- Strong support in DoD/DoE programs
- Proven success leading complex subcontract negotiations and cost analyses
- Experience procuring hardware, assemblies, and technical components
Knowledge & Skills- Deep expertise in FAR/DFARS regulations
- Ability to interpret SOWs, BOMs, and technical requirements
- Strong business judgment and ability to advise leadership on risk and strategy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Tools- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Proficiency in standard business and procurement tools
Nice to Have- Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPCM, or similar)
- Aerospace, defense, energy, or maritime sectors
- Experience working across multiple concurrent programs and suppliers
Work Environment & Benefits- Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
- 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off )
- Work across two San Diego locations supporting advanced technology programs

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $116480.00 - $208505.00/yr.
