Service Manager - EDL Building Solutions

Pay: CA$118,070.00 to CA$147,587.00 per year (On Target Earnings $150,000 - $190,000+ per year)
Incentive Pay: Eligible for monthly and annual incentive earnings up to 30 percent of annual salary

The Opportunity

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for the success and performance of the Service Department. You will oversee Technicians, Technical Foremen, and Service Coordinators, ensuring alignment between field operations, client expectations, and financial goals.

You will manage departmental P&L, safety compliance, fleet performance, and the continuous growth of mechanical and electrical assets under service agreements all while contributing to EDL's 10-year strategic vision.

What You'll Do
• Lead, coach, and develop Technicians, Service Coordinators, and Technical Foremen to achieve their personal, professional, and financial goals
• Manage department P&L performance, ensuring profitable growth and operational excellence
• Approve all service invoices within 2 business days and maintain billing accuracy
• Drive growth in mechanical and electrical assets under service agreements
• Maintain a zero at-fault safety incident rate and ensure compliance across all client sites and safety portals
• Lead operational strategy alignment with EDL's 10-year plan
• Oversee fleet management, maintenance schedules, and utilization efficiency
• Play a key role on the Health and Safety Committee and facilitate COR audits
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with clients, technicians, and internal teams
• Identify process improvements to strengthen reliability, speed, and profitability

What You Bring
• Proven track record leading a commercial service team with a minimum of 12 technicians in either HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or Building Systems.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a management or senior supervisory role within commercial service, maintenance, retrofit, or construction
• Journeyman Certificate in HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical considered a strong asset
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, maintenance best practices, and service operations
• Strategic thinker with financial acumen, people leadership, and safety excellence
• Skilled communicator who leads by example and inspires a One Team culture

Mandatory Requirements
  • Direct management experience of a commercial field service team of 12 or more technicians.
  • At least 5 years of management or senior supervisory experience in commercial service, maintenance, retrofit, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or building systems.
  • Majority of your leadership experience in commercial or industrial trades work, not residential service.

Other Requirements
• Valid driver's license and clean criminal record
• Ability to visit client sites and work alongside field operations as needed
• Based primarily out of EDL's Edmonton office
