SEO Manager

Job Description
We're looking for a strategic and hands-on SEO Manager to join Sage's Global SEO team. This individual contributor role focuses on supporting global initiatives while leading the regional SEO strategy for North America - turning business goals into clear, data-led initiatives that improve visibility and performance across Sage's digital ecosystem.

Acting much like an internal agency account manager or director, you'll plan and oversee SEO activity across on-page, off-page, and technical SEO - partnering with internal teams, SEO specialists, and agency partners to deliver high-quality work that drives measurable impact.

You'll collaborate with a globally distributed team, contributing to the growth and optimization of Sage's web ecosystem - spanning multiple regions, business areas, and digital properties. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of SEO and AI-driven marketing at a global SaaS company.

You'll thrive in this role if you're a data-driven SEO who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, and who thrives in a global enterprise environment where collaboration and communication are just as important as technical and analytical expertise.

Location & Hybrid Requirements: 3 days per week from either our Toronto or Vancouver office (2 days from home)

Qualifications - What you'll bring:
• 5+ years of experience developing SEO strategies for enterprise-scale or multi-market websites, ideally within a digital agency or large organizations.
• Ideally, you've worked at a digital agency as a strategic SEO Account Manager or Director managing large clients or budgets.
• You have deep knowledge across on-page, off-page, and technical SEO.
• You're confident using data to tell clear stories and make recommendations that influence decisions.
• Exceptional communicator, comfortable working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• You're proficient in Excel (e.g. including pivot tables and V-lookups).
• You're a proactive operator, curious, organized, and effectively driving projects forward independently while collaborating globally.

Preferred:
Basic scripting knowledge (Regex, Python, or JavaScript).
Experience exploring or implementing AI tools.

Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Global Director of SEO, you'll develop and execute the regional SEO strategy for North America, aligned to global priorities and performance targets.
• Create and maintain a prioritized SEO roadmap and performance forecasts to guide regional activity and track progress toward global goals.
• Turn business challenges into actionable SEO projects and briefs, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and agency partners.
• Audit websites for on-page, off-page, and technical SEO issues (e.g. crawling, indexation, or hreflang issues), identifying and prioritizing fixes in collaboration with internal and agency partners.
• Track, analyze, and report on site performance, user behavior, and conversions to identify insights and opportunities for growth.
• Brief, manage, and quality-check agency partners to ensure content, outreach, and optimization activities are high quality and aligned to strategy.
• Partner with global SEO colleagues to share learnings, streamline processes, and test new approaches to improve efficiency and results.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives-using data, experimentation, and AI to continuously evolve how SEO drives business impact.

Benefits? We have plenty...
• 100% paid premiums for health, dental, and vision coverage
• RRSP contribution match (100% up to 4%)
• 35 days paid time off (11 holidays, 16 vacation days, 3 personal days, 5 sick days)
• Work Away, an opportunity to work & play for 10 weeks in a country of your choice (from a Sage-approved list)
• 18 weeks of paid parental leave for birth, adoption, or surrogacy offered 1 year after your start date
• 5 days paid yearly to volunteer (through Sage Foundation)
• $5,250 tuition reimbursement per calendar year starting 6 months after your hire date
• Sage Wellness Rewards Program (annual fitness reimbursement)
• Library of on-demand career development options and ongoing training offerings
