This position reports to:
IT Senior Manager Manufacturing Systems

Your role and responsibilities:

ABB is seeking an exceptional leader to drive the strategic transformation of our warehouse operations through advanced warehouse management systems technology. As the Senior Warehouse Systems Manager for Distribution Systems, you will lead the implementation and optimization of our Blue Yonder WMS platform-a mission-critical initiative that will modernize our distribution center capabilities across the enterprise.

This is a strategic leadership role for an accomplished WMS professional who combines deep, hands-on expertise in Blue Yonder WMS with proven excellence in building, mentoring, and directing high-performing teams. You will serve as the primary architect of our WMS strategy, working directly with distribution center leadership to translate operational requirements into system configurations that drive efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Based in Memphis, Tenessee, you will oversee the end-to-end rollout of Blue Yonder WMS while managing a team of functional analysts and technical coordinators, ensuring successful adoption and delivering measurable operational improvements across our distribution network.

This role demands a combination between expertise in Blue Yonder WMS, distribution process optimization and team management. You will be accountable for strategy execution, team performance, operational KPIs, and alignment with enterprise supply chain objectives.

Candidates for this position must be able to work a hybrid schedule out of the Memphis, TN office location. #LI-Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Leadership & Team Management: Build, mentor, and manage a team of WMS functional analysts and technical specialists involved in projects and operational activities. Establish clear team objectives, performance metrics, and individual development plans aligned with business goals. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation. Lead team capability development and recruitments to create sustainable Blue Yonder expertise.
  • Blue Yonder WMS Strategy & Implementation: Own end-to-end Blue Yonder WMS rollout strategy, including phasing, timelines, scope definition, and measurable success metrics. Validate business requirements and drive strategic system configuration decisions that optimize warehouse operations. Develop and manage project budgets, resource allocations, and ensure ROI delivery on WMS investments. Lead cross-functional steering committees and governance structures; interface with IT leadership, DC operations, and external partners. Establish WMS performance baselines and drive continuous improvement initiatives post-go-live.
  • Blue Yonder WMS Operations: Oversee SLAs for user support and system maintenance. Drive system reliability and performance optimization. Establish WMS performance KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure seamless integration between Blue Yonder WMS, ERP systems, TMS, and other warehouse technologies. Oversee system testing strategies and lead process improvements including test automation. Conduct comprehensive gap analysis between current operations and Blue Yonder capabilities; design and implement solutions.
  • Delivery & Stakeholder Management: Maintain strategic communication with DC operations, IT leadership, external partners, and executive stakeholders. Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and project status updates that highlight progress, risks, and business impact. Drive change management initiatives to maximize user adoption and system value realization.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, IS/IT or related is required
  • 7+ years of hands-on, deep experience with Blue Yonder WMS, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting across multiple modules
  • 5+ years of proven senior management experience leading warehouse/supply chain teams in a complex, multi-site environment
  • Expert-level understanding of warehouse operations, material handling best practices, and end-to-end supply chain processes
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale system implementation or major rollout projects from strategy through post-launch optimization
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic stakeholder management skills; ability to influence across organizational levels
  • Proven track record building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams; experience with performance management and succession planning
  • Strong analytical, strategic problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities in complex, ambiguous environments
  • Blue Yonder certification or equivalent formal advanced training demonstrating expert-level platform knowledge is strongly preferred
  • Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US.
