Job Description

The SVP, Portfolio Media serves as the senior-most media leader across a portfolio of brands for a key pharmaceutical client. This individual is responsible for overseeing comprehensive media strategy, investment planning, and channel approach across both HCP and DTC initiatives, ensuring alignment to business objectives and delivering measurable impact.

This role acts as the primary media partner to senior client stakeholders and internal leadership, driving integration across media, strategy, analytics, and broader omnichannel initiatives. The SVP brings a forward-thinking, portfolio-level lens to planning, balancing brand-specific needs with enterprise-wide consistency, innovation, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Leadership & Strategic Oversight
  • Own the overall media strategy and planning approach across a portfolio of brands, ensuring consistency, quality, and strategic excellence across all work
  • Guide cross-brand investment planning, channel strategy, and resource allocation to improve impact across the portfolio
  • Ensure alignment between brand-level plans and broader business and commercialization objectives
  • Serve as the senior point of contact and final strategic authority for media recommendations and decisions regarding any critical issue

Client Leadership & Partnership
  • Act as the senior media lead and trusted advisor to client stakeholders across the portfolio
  • Partner closely with client leadership to shape investment strategy, channel prioritization, and long-term planning
  • Lead high-level strategic discussions, presentations, and planning engagements
  • Provide proactive thought leadership around media innovation, evolving channel dynamics, and opportunities for growth

Integration & Omnichannel Collaboration
  • Partner cross-functionally with strategy, analytics, engagement, and client teams to ensure fully integrated solutions
  • Drive alignment between media planning and broader omnichannel initiatives and customer experience strategies
  • Ensure media is effectively connected to data, insights, and measurement frameworks to inform ongoing optimization
  • Champion collaboration across teams to deliver cohesive, audience-first experiences

Innovation & Thought Leadership
  • Bring forward new ideas, tools, and approaches to advance media strategy across the portfolio
  • Find opportunities to test, learn, and scale innovative channels, technologies, and planning methodologies
  • Contribute POVs and frameworks that elevate the overall media offering at Heartbeat

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and mentor senior media and strategy team members across the portfolio
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment with clear accountability and strong communication
  • Support team growth through coaching, development, and ongoing feedback
  • Partner on hiring and building out the media function as needed

Business Leadership & Growth
  • Partner with account and agency leadership on client growth opportunities and strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to new business efforts, including pitches and strategic proposals
  • Help shape the evolution of media capabilities within Heartbeat


Qualifications

Knowledge & Expertise
  • Deep expertise in pharmaceutical marketing across both HCP and DTC audiences
  • Strong cross-channel media planning and investment strategy experience
  • Ability to connect media strategy to business outcomes and broader marketing ecosystems
  • Strong understanding of data, measurement, and how insights inform planning decisions
  • Familiarity with emerging media trends and the healthcare marketing landscape


Requirements
  • Proven success leading large-scale media strategy across multiple brands or a portfolio of business
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior client stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making
  • Strong leadership presence with experience managing and mentoring senior-level teams
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level across complex organizations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills


Education & Experience
  • 12+ years of media strategy, planning, and investment experience
  • Significant leadership experience, including oversight of senior team members and cross-functional teams
  • Pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences experience required
  • Experience working across both HCP and DTC campaigns
  • Bachelor's degree required

Compensation Range: USD $180,215.00 - USD $299,637.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
