Senior Vice President, Information Technology

Executive Leadership | Strategic Vision | Technology Transformation

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this executive-level position is responsible for developing and executing the strategic technology vision for the organization. The SVP, IT will lead enterprise-wide technology initiatives, drive innovation, strengthen cybersecurity, modernize systems and infrastructure, and ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.

This role provides strategic leadership across all aspects of technology while partnering closely with senior executives to support the Company's long-term growth and success.

What You'll Do

Strategic Technology Leadership
  • Establish, communicate, and lead execution of the Company's enterprise technology strategy.
  • Align technology investments and resources with strategic business objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify emerging technologies and trends that create opportunities for growth, innovation, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Partner with fellow executive leadership to drive innovation in systems, processes, products, and services.
  • Participate in long-term organizational planning, helping shape strategic priorities, financial objectives, and business initiatives.
  • Select and implement technology solutions that balance functionality, reliability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Enterprise Technology & Digital Transformation
  • Lead large-scale technology transformation initiatives and enterprise system implementations.
  • Direct the design, acquisition, and implementation of the Company's technology infrastructure roadmap.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Promote the adoption of modern technologies, automation, data-driven decision making, and process optimization.
  • Ensure technology capabilities position the Company for future growth and evolving business needs.

IT Operations, Security & Governance
  • Provide executive oversight of infrastructure, operations, enterprise applications, systems development, architecture, and cybersecurity.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise technology platforms across all locations.
  • Establish governance frameworks, technology standards, benchmarks, and performance metrics to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure alignment between IT resources, organizational priorities, and business objectives.

People Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead and develop a high-performing technology organization through effective coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Build a culture focused on collaboration, accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and performance management for IT leaders and teams.
  • Foster employee engagement while maintaining high standards of performance and execution.

Financial & Resource Management
  • Develop and manage technology budgets, resource plans, and strategic investment priorities.
  • Forecast organizational technology and staffing requirements to support future business needs.
  • Direct the acquisition, utilization, and lifecycle management of technology assets.
  • Ensure technology investments produce strong operational and financial returns.

Executive & Industry Leadership
  • Build strong partnerships with Great West leadership, Old Republic leadership, and peers across subsidiary organizations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding technology strategy, risk, and opportunities.
  • Represent the Company externally and promote a positive organizational reputation within the industry and community.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Information Technology.
  • 7+ years of senior IT management or executive leadership experience.
  • Proven success developing and executing enterprise technology strategies that support organizational growth and transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technology modernization efforts and enterprise system implementations.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and align technology with organizational objectives.
  • Experience managing complex technology organizations, budgets, and strategic initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree in Business, Technology, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, PMP, ITIL, or similar credentials.
  • Significant experience within the property/casualty insurance industry or a closely related industry.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations, systems, and technologies.
  • Experience leading organizations through significant growth, transformation, or modernization initiatives.
