Job Summary
The Senior VDI Engineer will design, implement, and provide senior-level engineering support for Omnissa Horizon environments up to and including Horizon 8. The role will provide hands-on expertise across the full Horizon stack, automation development, and physically and logically isolated VDI architectures. The engineer will collaborate with senior engineering teams on a confidential engagement and support VDI environments across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement physically and logically isolated Omnissa Horizon environments through Horizon 8.
• Support the deployment and operation of physically and logically isolated VDI architectures.
• Support dedicated physical thin client hardware within isolated VDI environments.
• Develop automation to streamline provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks.
• Provide senior-level engineering support to delivery teams operating Omnissa Horizon environments.
• Support and troubleshoot Horizon infrastructure across the full technology stack.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers to deliver project objectives.
• Maintain strict project confidentiality and follow established engagement requirements.
Required Qualifications
• 3-5 years of applied experience designing, implementing, and providing senior engineering support for Omnissa Horizon environments through Horizon 8.
• Hands-on knowledge of Horizon Connection Server.
• Hands-on knowledge of Horizon Agent and Horizon Client.
• Experience with Unified Access Gateway (UAG).
• Experience with Enrollment Server.
• Experience with vCenter Server and VMware vSphere.
• Experience with Cloud Pod Architecture (CPA) for high availability.
• Automation development experience.
• Familiarity with physically and logically isolated VDI architectures.
• Familiarity with dedicated physical thin client hardware.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team of senior engineers.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in a mandatory on-site interview.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Omnissa Horizon App Volumes.
• Experience with Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM).
• Familiarity with on-premises, cloud, and hybrid Horizon deployment topologies.
• Familiarity with Horizon Control Plane services.
• Experience or familiarity with Image Management Service (IMS).
• Familiarity with Horizon security elements including UAG, authentication, SSO, and physical and logical isolation.
