As a key member of our Digital Experience & Design team, the Senior User Experience (UX) Designer is responsible for creating user-centered digital experiences that align customer needs with business goals. This role combines user research, interaction design, collaboration, and problem-solving to deliver intuitive, accessible, and engaging experiences across web, mobile, and digital products. The UX Designer partners closely with designers, developers, content strategists, and business stakeholders throughout the design process while championing the voice of the customer and reinforcing Mutual of Omaha's brand experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead and support user-centered design efforts by planning and conducting research activities such as user interviews, usability testing, and discovery sessions to uncover insights and inform design decisions.
  • Create intuitive digital experiences through user flows, journey maps, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs that align user needs with business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, business partners, developers, researchers, and other designers to deliver effective solutions across web, mobile, and other digital platforms.
  • Advocate for the user throughout the design process by leveraging research, analytics, accessibility standards, and best practices to continuously improve customer experiences.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our design practice by sharing ideas, participating in Agile ceremonies, providing design recommendations, and staying current on emerging UX trends, tools, and technology.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Portfolio required. Candidates must provide examples of UX work and case studies that demonstrate their design process, problem- solving approach, and impact on user and business outcomes.
  • Experience in UX design, UX research, interaction design, or related disciplines, with the ability to apply user-centered design principles to solve complex business and customer challenges.
  • Proven ability to create and communicate UX deliverables such as personas, journey maps, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and usability findings.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including wireframing, interactive prototyping, design systems, and collaborative design workflows, along with experience conducting user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for continuous learning, accessibility, inclusive design, and creating exceptional digital experiences that deliver value to customers and the business.
  • You promote a collaborative culture, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.


PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in design or related field
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience designing for mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
  • Interest and participation in professional industry groups, conferences
