About the RoleThe Senior Underwriter is a key member of the underwriting team reporting to the Regional Underwriting Manager. The primary goal of this position is to profitably grow a book of business by actively partnering with Agents and working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization. This person will plan and budget for the book of business, develop and maintain agency relationships, and execute underwriting decisions.
What You'll DoNo matter the role, delivering exceptional service is the priority in everything we do at PURE. As a Senior Underwriter, this looks like:
- Business Management: Reviewing your book of business, tracking performance, and analyzing market conditions and competition.
- Broker Partnership: Building and managing broker relationships, developing goals and strategies, and collaborating to craft tailored solutions for members.
- Underwriting Execution: Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts.
What You'll NeedYou have at least 5 years of experience underwriting, preferably in the high net worth space and you are comfortable owning a book of business. Direct, empathetic communication is a staple in every aspect of your day, and you thrive on building connections with people. You know how to gather and analyze all the data you'll need to make a decision on a risk. You work with pride and determination.
Who You AreAll of the strongest relationships are a partnership- a two way street. So here's what we ask of you:
- Aim to bring your best every day: you're here because you want to be part of a team that makes a real impact and aims high.
- Be a student and a teacher: share your knowledge and talents and be willing to listen and learn from those around you.
- Get comfortable being uncomfortable: we face tough moments and obstacles with a "courage over comfort" approach and a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Be a culture builder: building a positive culture is everyone's responsibility, based on care, respect and openness to diverse perspectives.
The base salary for this role can range from $75,000 to $95,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience
