What You’ll Accomplish With UsAs a Senior Underwriter, you will play a central role in our mission. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing complex life, health, and disability insurance cases by applying established underwriting guidelines.
- Negotiating the best possible terms with reinsurers to deliver competitive and client-focused solutions.
- Reviewing, assessing, and recommending solutions for the most complex underwriting files.
- Acting as a mentor and coach to less experienced underwriters.
- Collaborating with IT teams and Business Analysts as a subject matter expert in the implementation of a new automated underwriting system.
What Could Accelerate Your Success in This RoleWe are looking for someone who:
- Holds a bachelor's degree or another relevant academic background.
- Has more than 8 years of experience in individual life insurance underwriting or a similar role.
- Is recognized for strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in assessing medical and non-medical information to make sound underwriting decisions.
- Demonstrates excellent negotiation skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Possesses outstanding communication skills and a client-focused mindset, consistently delivering high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines.
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

The typical hiring range for this position is between $90,000 and $115,000 CAD per year, based on a 37.5-hour work week. The base salary offered may vary depending on knowledge, skills, relevant experience, and internal equity related to the role.
